What is a halter?

Updated

A halter is a gear made of textile or leather that is put on the horses’ head. It is used, among other things, to lead the horse to the paddock or to tie up in the stable, the aisle or during transport.

The halter is pulled over the back of the nose and ears and is often attached with a buckle to the horse's muzzle. Always use a gentle halter that does not cause chafing as the horse's muzzle is sensitive.

Halters can be made of fabric, rope, or leather and can also be padded with different materials to help minimize chafing.

Equestrian Stockholm offers a large selection of halters in several colors and sizes, from durable leather to fabric halters with teddy fur or soft neoprene padding.
